It's really super duper easy but so many people have asked for a video so here's 5 minutes of rambling with about 30 seconds of that dedicated to actually mo. For realistic mods, Radical Remake and Jagged Fang Designs are your best bet (though the latter is sometimes hard to find since they aren't on the Library), and most designers nowadays focus on realism like lgcfm, Ulquiorra, Scott, and more.
If you're into vanilla-style mods, there are multiple designers working on these currently as well as plenty of old mods from the early days. You can also find nearly any species as a mod via the Library, as well as tons of decorative items and foliage. Personally, I'd recommend building sets like those from Zeta Designs, LC Creations and Lucoshi because they open up a huge world of possibilities in zoo building.
